The history of First Street Flooring dates back to 1910. Over the years, the flooring store has had several different owners and locations. In 2006, it was purchased by Pip and Aaron Conrad. Needing additional space for the growing business, it was moved to 3rd Street in 2008, hence the name, First Street Flooring on Third!
. . . . .
We attribute much of our success to our strong community ties. Since 2006, we have actively supported a wide range of local organizations through volunteer work and financial donations. Here at First Street Flooring, we know that it is vital for local businesses to support the community, and in turn that community thrives and supports local businesses.
While customers may find cheaper pricing in the big box stores, they won't see those corporations support local events and organizations! As your neighbor, we understand the power of word of mouth, and the value of reputation. We stand by our work and our products, and are proud of our reputation for fair prices and excellent service. Our goal is simple - satisfied customers!
We plan to be your neighbor for many years to come, and look forward to meeting you in our store, or on the streets of our beautiful town.
Stop by our showroom in charming downtown Salida, give us a call, or drop us an email. Either way, we look forward to meeting you!

Meet the Team
Pip & Aaron Conrad, Owners
Owners of First Street Flooring since 2006, Pip and Aaron met while they were both volunteering at the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Namibia, Africa. Pip was born in England, and Aaron was born and raised on the East Coast. While touring the U.S. by motorcycle, they both fell in love with the American West. When they found a property for sale outside of Salida, they knew they’d found their home.
Pip and Aaron love the peace and quiet of the area and get outdoors every chance they can. Along with their pup, Apollo, they enjoy hiking, skiing, cross country skiing, gardening, camping, and travel.
Their advice: “Support your local businesses, they build the community that you love!"

Wendy's advice: "There is no wrong or right way to design a home. Find a few elements you love and design around that."
While born in Phoenix, Clayton has lived in Colorado since the age of four. He loves the active outdoor lifestyle that this area offers, especially snowboarding and 4-wheeling with his family. His favorite part of his job is helping people find solutions.
Clayton's advice: "In the end, it just doesn't pay to cut corners."
Mary is a 3rd generation Colorado native who loves gardening, traveling with her husband, and spending time with her kids and grandkids. She appreciates the community spirit of FSF and welcomes every opportunity to help customers.
Mary's advice: "Many details go into flooring solutions, it's smart to work with experts who understand the entire process and the products."
