Stepping Up In Our Community

Updated: May 24

One of the best things about living in a small town community like Salida is the opportunity to support and help your friends and neighbors. That’s the spirit behind the recent charitable donations made by the owners and employees of First Street Flooring on Third to numerous charitable organizations, with most of them serving Chaffee, Saguache, and Fremont counties. Each person was given $1,000 to donate to one or more charitable organization of their choice.

Said one staff member, “Deciding on which organization to donate was challenging, since there are so many that need assistance right now. But being able to make a difference to a worthy cause was a great experience. I love the community spirit of First Street Flooring.”

Providing their employees with the funds to donate to a charity of their choice is part of an ongoing effort by First Street Flooring to take an active role in their community. “It has been fun being a part of the business community here in Salida. It is always nice to be able to make an impact, whether financial or through volunteer hours.”

The following organizations were the recipients of the First Street Flooring donations. Check out their websites and learn more about the good things they do, and maybe you'll be inspired to support them as well.
